Climate Generation is thrilled to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors this month: Dr. Lisa White and Alissa Matthies Tamasi.
Our Board of Directors are committed individuals with experience in law, policy, education, finance, non-profits, marketing, communications, and industry who have a passion for our mission.
Dr. White, recent winner of the National Center for Science Education’s Friends of Darwin Award, is the Director of Education and Outreach, Museum of Paleontology, at the University of California, Berkeley. A leader in diversity and inclusion in STEM, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in teaching and engaging youth in geosciences.
Alissa Matthies Tamasi is the Senior Manager of Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility at Target and has over a decade of experience in corporate environmental work. Alissa recently supported the opening of Target’s first net zero store in Vista, California, where they will generate more energy than they use. A long time friend of Climate Generation, Alissa was a delegate in our Window into COP24 program in 2018.
Please join me in welcoming them to the Climate Generation community!
We’d also like to acknowledge Andrew Gibbons as he transitions off of our Board. Andrew has given the organization six years of his time and helped guide us through tremendous change as we fine-tuned our strategic direction and moved through a leadership transition. We appreciate all of his contributions and are grateful for your continued support.
Susan Phillips is the Executive Director of Climate Generation. She is an activist, educator/facilitator/trainer, specialist in participatory and servant leadership, and an experienced nonprofit leader.
