International Climate Policy For Everyone
COP27: November 2022Subscribe
Our Window into COP program brings global climate policy to life through the voices of youth, educators, and community leaders at the annual U.N. climate conference.
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) includes 197 countries (Parties) committed to preventing human interference with the Earth’s climate system. Since 1995, they have hosted annual COPs to negotiate global climate action commitments.
In 2015, 196 countries finalized and signed the Paris Agreement – the first global climate accord that commits all signatories to climate action. Learn more about the progress and hurdles since it’s creation to limit Earth’s warming to a safe level.
Are you an educator? Follow along during COP with your students this November or teach about it any time of year.
