Conservation Biology & Psychology

Zaria Romero is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is majoring in conservation biology and psychology. Presently she is part of a student group, Enactus, in which she is the project manager for the Sustainable Move-Out initiative on Madison’s campus. Previously, she spoke on the Badger Herald Podcast for Earth Day discussing how college students can incorporate sustainability in their daily lives. She also shared her zero waste journey on MPR (Climate Cast), at the 2019 Lake Superior Youth Symposium in Duluth, at the 2018 Minnesota Climate Adaptation Conference at the University of Minnesota, and her zero waste story titled “Trash Talk” is included in Climate Generation’s book “EyeWitness.” Zaria first connected with Climate Generation when she was a Youth Core Leader for Climate Generation’s Youth Convening-Minnesota project in 2018. She is looking forward to continuing to advocate for climate change solutions.

I am excited to represent the youth voice at the Conference of Youth in Glasgow because I think real change will occur once specific policies are put in place to mitigate climate change. Climate change is a global issue, and I believe the best climate solutions will come from working together globally.
